Overview: Most car shows are about dreams: shiny convertibles, racy sports cars and monster four-wheel-drive pickups. This year, however, Detroit's North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) is about reality: the reality that gasoline prices seem stuck on the high side of $3 a gallon and that the auto industry has to address fuel efficiency in a dramatic way while further reducing pollution and dealing with the potential of global warming.
