Overview: Since a lay off is much different than being fired, it is a lot easier to offer the reasons for a lay off vs. being fired in that most companies realize that they will hire someone who is no longer needed by another company for many reasons that don't necessarily mean that who they lay off wasn't an asset to the company. Before an interview, make sure you find out the real reasons for being let go, and if it wasn't because of any reason that may have been as a result of yourself personally, then you can safely offer those reasons with the expectations that the interviewer will take all into consideration.
