Overview: Imagine being able to expand your brand presence into wireless without having to buy spectrum or invest in a new network. Non-wireless companies, such as media and entertainment companies, wireline telecoms and cable television operators, can now do this by becoming a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO). In the MVNO model, mobile operators provide airtime through a joint venture or wholesale relationship to a third party. The third party, or MVNO, leverages a combination of its brand, customers, content and distribution channel to create a compelling and unique offering targeted at a sub-segment of the total wireless market.
