Overview: The organizational strategy is effectively realized only after gauging the mood prevalent in the firm’s external environment by conducting the industry analysis. The industry analysis is conducted by Porter’s Five Forces Analysis that studies the effect of five different environmental forces on an organization. These five forces are bargaining power of suppliers and buyers, threat of substitute products or services, and threat of new entrants. The paper examines the relevance of industry analysis and discusses Porter’s Five Forces Model to conduct the same.
