Overview: Strategy of an organization defines the overall plan to deploy strategic resources towards achievement of long-term goals and objectives of the organization. The external environment of a firm consists of the moves and counter moves executed by its competitors. The organizational strategy is effectively realized only after gauging the mood prevalent in the firm’s external environment by conducting the industry analysis. The industry analysis is conducted by Porter’s Five Forces Analysis that studies the effect of five different environmental forces on an organization. These five forces are bargaining power of suppliers and buyers, threat of substitute products or services, and threat of new entrants. The paper examines the dynamics of Porter’s Five Forces Analysis.
