Overview: The decision to study law, should be made early. If you are a persuasive communicator, like to research, think logically, and can write well, perhaps you should consider becoming a lawyer. Lawyers do more than argue cases in courtrooms. Public prosecutors and defense attorneys are certainly one large portion of the law field. However, companies also have lawyers to advice them as to what they can and can't do. They also become involved on behalf of the company in the event of a claim against the company. Corporate attorneys may even assist the company in brainstorming policies and procedures to maintain a safe, equal opportunity work environment. Individuals also hire attorneys for advice, or to speak on their behalf in a court room.
