Overview: The financial assessment of an organization is imperative from the point of view of its long range success and planning. It gives an indication of the firm’s capability to generate shareholder ‘value’. The accounting-based financial performance metrics include Return on Investment (ROI), Residual Income (RI), and Economic Value Added (EVA). EVA is a performance measurement tool, which helps in assessing the ‘value’ of the organization for a given period. The paper examines the different accounting-based performance metrics.
