Overview: Leadership is the process of influencing others to get the work done. The leadership process consists of three elements viz. the leader, the task, and the led or the followers. The leader has vision, trait, style, behavior, and charisma. On the basis of the aforesaid qualities, the leader inspires and motivates the followers towards attainment of certain pre-defined organizational goals. According to contingency theory of leadership, effective leadership depends on leader and follower’s characteristics as well as other factors in the leadership situation.
