Overview: Negotiation is the process through which two or more parties arrive at mutually acceptable terms and conditions of exchange for items they own or control. Listening skills are a key to successful negotiations. People, who patiently listen to the views of the other party can, in turn, put forth their own views in a better way. This smoothens the negotiation process and desired results are efficiently achieved. The paper examines some key listening skills and discusses some common listening mistakes.
