Overview: Teams give strength to an organization. They help in developing synergy and increasing productivity at the workplace. There are five stages in a team development process viz. forming, storming, norming, performing, and adjourning. Managing teams is critical business. At every stage of the team development process, the role of the team leader is significant. The paper examines different types of teams. It discusses the causes and symptoms of unproductive teams. In his context, the paper also sheds light on the concept of leadership and looks into team performance.
