Overview: Ethics, essentially, consist of a set of moral guidelines towards conductance of an appropriate behavior. Such behavior conforms to professional standards of conduct. The corporate code of ethics consists of a set of moral principles and values that govern the behavior of the organization with respect to what is right and what is wrong. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) spells out an organization’s commitment towards society and is a measure of the organization’s social responsiveness. The paper examines ethics and CSR and discusses the role of the organization in the broader context of society.
