Overview: The corporate code of ethics spells out the basic philosophy and priorities of an organization in concrete terms. It also contains the prohibitory actions at the workplace. It provides a framework on which the organization could be legally governed. It serves as a self-identification statement for the organization. The core values in a code of ethics include participation and authenticity. The paper discusses the relevance and basic principles of code of ethics. It ponders over the occasional failure of the same.
