Overview: After having had too many documents on SWOT few questions of internal versus external focused managers’ attention remain unanswered. This paper on the basis of data on managerial assessments of both internal and external factors, it identifies the set of factors that have a greater affect on the organizations’ responses. The paper identifies several management schools of thought that address either directly or indirectly the issue of managerial attention to external and internal factors. An example is given to support the argument. The paper takes forth the data collection and statistical methodologies, followed by an analysis of our results and an exploration of their significance.
