Overview: A year ago, e-marketplaces and online trading webs were redefining the way companies interacted with their business partners. This year, many of those digital exchanges are defunct. However, despite the carnage caused by the collapse of so many of these trailblazing ventures, there are few who would deny that business-to-business revolution is continuing, albeit with a lot less fanfare. If anything has been killed over the past year, it is the hype. The B2B revolution is happening – it is just not happening as quickly as the pundits predicted it would. Adopting the B2B e-commerce model requires a new set of multi-organizational processes. It also means that companies have to rethink the way they interact with their business partners.
