Overview: Purely local or regional leasing companies have become a rarity these days, as most are now tied into some form of national network so they can compete more effectively for business. In most cases, carriers turn to leasing for one reason: to manage risk. Much of that risk revolves around the cost of new equipment, maintenance of that equipment over its life cycle, and the eventual disposal of that equipment.
