Overview: The purpose of the organizational theory is to discuss the systematic study of organizations by scholars. Concepts are obtained from living ongoing organizations. It helps people understand, diagnose, and respond to organizational needs and problems. Organizations are social entities that are goal directed, deliberately structured activity systems with a permeable boundary. One important idea is that organizations are systems. They are open systems that must adjust to the environment to survive, new science of chaos theory, focus on the organization not the individual. Organization theory consists of multiple perspectives.
