Overview: With pricing, the thing to fix clearly in mind is that one might have to be a "commodity" in the first part of a transaction, but one rarely need to be a commodity beyond that point. One should be willing to stretch and expand a deal, too, even if he has to bid competitively. Most business people fight price wars just to generate customer traffic. But unless an individual has a well-strategized plan of action behind what he is doing, he cannot possibly profit from a price war. In fact, in most price wars, nobody wins.
