Overview: There are three major societal drivers that are already having a profound affect on the society as the world enters the next millennium.  They are simultaneously pushing and pulling the society into the 21st century. The first driver is the Speed of Change. The majority of the changes that are being faced are permanent, pervasive and profound. The second driver is the need for partnerships and alliances. Today successful leaders realize that no one department can be more important than another. Each affects the whole and must function at the same speed. Everyone must become an equal player in an interdependent chain. Their partnerships represent equals coming together to fulfill customer needs. The third driver is Customer Service to Customer Focus. People can be driven, pushed, pulled, and hustled along against their will or one can understand and embrace them, plan strategically for their affects on the organizations and literally jump out in front of the marketplace as pace setters.
