Overview: The article says that there are a great many people and organizations (which are, or course, composed of people), out there trying desperately to convince you that one cannot possibly manage his/her own project. At least, they insist, you cannot do it without becoming an expert in their methodology and/or using their software. They are desperate because if you decide that you do not need them, they do not get your money. In its simplest terms, a project is nothing more than a set of sequential tasks performed by one or more people. A project plan is nothing more than a list of those tasks in the order that they must be performed with starting and ending dates and the names of the people that will perform them. A slightly more sophisticated plan will also include what resources (equipment, software, etc.) each of those people will need to perform their tasks and to support whatever it is they are creating.
