Overview: QS-9000 has been in place since 1994, and the International Automotive Sector Group has made a number of sanctioned interpretations since then, with the latest being issued Dec. 1, 1997. But finally, the Edition 3 of the standard was released in March 1998, and its intent is to make things clearer and more detailed to enhance the understanding of its users. Many changes are designed to bring interpretation into the standard, rather than having a separate document. This article discusses the same.
