Overview: The purpose of this briefing paper is to set out and put into context some of the approaches to business transformation, process modelling and quality. In particular the paper sets out an overall approach evolved at IERC Cranfield injunction with Honda and Raytheon Corporation. In helping organisations plan and enable change including quality initiatives, a number of roles need to be simultaneously undertaken, from facilitator to process consultant working interactively with the client company. This work needs to cover a full spectrum of activities from facilitation to the development of the vision and goal setting; to workshops on problem definition and solving; through to managing and participating in systems design and integration activities as well utilise a range of creative problem solving and analytical tools and techniques.
