Overview: The article reveals the design of a warehouse. A well-designed warehouse offers many advantages to the owners. It operates with high labor efficiency, minimizes inventory, utilizes space effectively, minimizes errors, and responds to the needs of customers. A warehouse is a buffer between inbound orders arriving from suppliers and outbound orders delivered to customers. Typically, customers order in small lots of mixed product. Suppliers of a warehouse typically deliver in large quantities of a single or limited range of product types. The key to an effective design is the relative dominance of picking or storage activity.
