Overview: Filling in your self assessment tax return is about as appealing as a holiday in Iraq and if you haven’t got round to completing in your form to meet the September 30 deadline for the Inland Revenue to calculate your bill. The Revenue will work out your bill, saving you the bother of having to wrestle with its tax calculation form, and adjust your tax code so it is paid out of your salary over the year, rather than in one lump sum. The Revenue now claims that the glitches suffered by its online service in June this year have been ironed out. Rather embarrassingly after the Revenue sent out a mail shot promoting the online service to two million people, there was a security breach and the service had to be shut down for a short time. This article als explains about deadlines for revenue online services.
