Overview: Ring the bell for round two of on-line banking redesigns and relaunches. A new phase of Internet banking emphasizing greater ease-of-use and broader functionality is getting underway. Many of the banks that have introduced new versions of their on-line banking and those that are planning a relaunch are placing much of the redesign emphasis on hawking on-line bill payment. Making sites less cluttered is a priority, say a number of bank executives, but much of the thinking behind redesigns has been to get customers to view on-line bill payment as an integrated part of on-line banking and not as a standalone entity.
