Overview: This white paper contains information on activities that occurred in some of the committees, task forces and working groups that met there. The Statutory Accounting Principles Working Group made many important decisions that approves the drafting of an issue paper on additional minimum pension liabilities that would allow the liability to be recorded in surplus but not in the income statement. It also approves an issue paper on transfers of assets that will replace SSAPs 18, 33 and 45 and rejects two new GAAP standards. It also discusses about Financial Regulation Standards and Accreditation Committee, Class Action Litigation Insurance Working Group etc.
