Overview: The article says that The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires employers to modify their policies and procedures to include people with disabilities. These requirements apply also to evacuation plans. Employers may be required to provide reasonable accommodations to employees so they can evacuate during emergencies. Some employers may be leery of the costs they may incur trying to develop plans to evacuate individuals with disabilities. But such an approach misses the potential benefits of such planning.
