Overview: AMEC Process and Energy has turned to computerized training and assessment to help develop new skills for employees working on the Shearwater Development Alliance (SDA) to bring an oil exploration platform project to a successful conclusion. AMEC employed computer aided assessment to support its intensive training operations for the Shearwater Project, initially as an aid to judge the relative competencies of all personnel. But management is now expanding its use into other areas of its operations. So, HR professionals were able to conduct training operations. AMEC has also recently instigated a team performance assessment program.
