Overview: For many organizations, the speed at which internal information evolves is outpacing the rate at which it can be effectively distributed. Existing models for disseminating internal information, such as printed manuals and collections of documents on a server, are no longer adequate. Although publishing information online is the obvious solution, integrating documents to an Intranet can be expensive, labor-intensive, and require special technical knowledge. Today's organizations are starving for a way to rapidly publish and update internal information online in an easily navigable format, without great expense or technical expertise. In this article, we examine the specific details of the problem and recommend criteria for selecting the best solution.
