Overview: Some people scale down the number of hours they work, others scale down their job responsibilities. Still others retire then are hired back in some capacity by a previous employer. Yet others explore entirely new careers in the years-proceeding "retirement." As society faces increasing numbers of retiring employees and increased longevity it will challenge our concept of aging as well as who is eligible for social programs.
