Overview: For the moment, gas prices have decreased to a more stable level, but unrest in the Mideast and tropical storms that threaten oil production could send the cost of fuel skyrocketing once again. Americans have felt the sharp bite of high gas prices and companies have responded by pushing for the assimilation of alternative fuels. Using renewable energy sources such as biofuels, rather than natural resources, which may soon be vastly depleted in time, is not only economical for both the consumer and the country, but is also environmentally safer.
