Overview: Some careers center on speaking well. Radio and television announcers, teachers, lawyers, and entertainers all must be able to speak in public. But this skill helps everyone else too. In most jobs, good speakers make a better impression - and earn more money - than poor speakers. In the corporate world, most high-level employees have to give presentations at meetings and conferences. People who are comfortable speaking in public are the ones most often asked to represent their departments or companies.
