Overview: The Family And Medical Leave Act or FMLA gives employees job protection during family or medical emergencies. Employees who are pregnant and about to deliver a child or workers who need medical treatment and cannot return to work fall under the legal protection of FMLA. This law protects the employee's job for up to 12 weeks of unpaid leave. But as with any benefit, you will find some employees take advantage of the system. Although the termination of employee with FMLA is tricky, you can do it.
