Overview: Twenty years ago, even young workers stated a preference for a pension plan as opposed to a savings plan. Today, even a majority of older workers state a first preference for a savings plan when it comes to retirement preparation. Most workers, but particularly the young, have always had high job turnover. Older worker groups are now returning to tenure patterns that were common before the entry of the boomer generation into the labor force.
