Overview: People have many different reasons for wanting a new home, from an expanding family to hopes of financial gain. How do they go about selling their old home and finding, purchasing, and inhabiting their new home? The purpose of this paper is to detail what current or potential homeowners, users, encounter during the buying, living, and selling phases of owning a home. The concentration will be on those that purchase their homes, as opposed to renters, since the buying process is considerably more complicated and incorporates the stages that renters go through (similar to Buyer's Lifecycle). The insights gained here are from several interviews with recent and not so recent homebuyers and sellers.
