Overview: This paper examines the economy-wide impacts of industry specific productivity improvements. The various factors and channels are attempted to identify that enhance or reduce the economy wide impacts from a given productivity shock. To examine industry specific productivity improvements Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) modelling is used in the form of the Victorian Department of Treasury and Finance version of the MMRF-GREEN model developed by the Centre of Policy Studies at Monash University. For the analysis, the economy-wide impact of a 10 per cent improvement, separately examines in the productivity of primary factors used in most Victorian industries identified in the model.
