Overview: For the software industry, there is the license agreement that people see the first time they install the software. Most people don't take the time to read it and quickly click on the "I Agree" button, so they can proceed with installing their software. In larger corporations, the employees never see the license agreement as the installation is performed by an IT professional. However, this agreement is as important to the software industry as similar notices are to the Motion Picture and Recording industries. This paper is designed to help businesses better understand the issues surrounding software piracy and the ways individuals and organizations can protect themselves through software management and license compliance.
