Overview: The investment in new residential building construction may be divided into two major categories. The first one being the work put in place, which represents the value of construction for the four principal dwelling types (singles, doubles, rows and apartments) during a given period. The second category Other new construction regroups the investment for cottages, mobile homes and conversions and also acquisition costs such as taxes, land development costs and other related costs. This paper focuses on the first category.
