Overview: In this paper, a method for project-based education in engineering design methodology, focused on manufacturing system development, is presented and validated. The method is suited for manufacturing system development projects in collaboration between student groups and industrial partners. This method can also be used as a framework for conducting the engineering design research and testing the research results within the context of undergraduate engineering projects.
