Overview: PMBOK emphasizes the importance of proactive behavior throughout the project lifecycle in ensuring that what the project delivers meets the needs for which it was undertaken. In striving to meet the goals of the project, it is necessary for the project manager to be constantly vigilant and to take corrective action in response to problems as they arise. All corrective actions are subject to the specific constraints of the project environment. Very often, the nature of these constraints calls for outside-of-the-box thinking on the part of the project team to resolve the problems that arise.
