Overview: Mauriann Patterson was unsure whether she wanted to start a weight loss business or not. But like many other prospective entrepreneurs, she didn't know how to get started or if the rewards would be worth the risks. At a friend's suggestion, Mauriann attended a seminar presented by Naples of Collier SCORE that spotlighted women business owners. Inspired by their experiences, Mauriann signed up for free counseling and launched her business, ICAN! Weight Loss. Eighteen months later at another SCORE seminar, it was Mauriann who was telling other woman about her experiences in business.
