Overview: Veterinarian Jody Heekin was all gung-ho about starting her own practice. SCORE Counselor Fitz Corr subtly walked her through a reality check and pointed out the flaws in her plan. And he was right; Jody wasn't ready financially or emotionally to run a business. Had she kept going, it would have been a disaster. Six and half years later, Jody felt ready to give her small business dream another try. But this time, there was a new complication - the veterinary practice where she had worked for 16 years had been sold and her future there was in doubt. Jody went back to SCORE and met with Counselor Al Del Gardo. Today, Jody operates a growing veterinary practice in a suburb of Cincinnati.
