Overview: New Bern, NC, restaurant owner Arturo Guillen has come a long way from his humble childhood in Queretero, a state in northeast Mexico. Although the restaurant appeared to prosper in its early years, Arturo wanted to gain a better understanding of his financial records and improve his managerial skills. They provided lots of valuable feedback about financials and operations. In addition to the financial statements, SCORE advised Arturo on his taxes, legal obligations, marketing strategy, insurance and business planning and also drew on his human resources experience to help Arturo assess his personnel needs and develop an employee handbook. SCORE helped improve staff organization, which allows to have more time to spend with his family.
