Overview: Kevin LaPlante, the former welder's idea for a gourmet coffee shop and bistro had been perking along nicely. He had an ideal location, a unique product, and a growing number of loyal customers. Kevin's accounting and financial procedures followed the standard formula for successful restaurants. But although Kevin thought he had done everything right, his business was losing money. As he searched for answers, Kevin remembered how the Utica chapter of SCORE had assisted him few years earlier when he was having difficulty getting his idea off the ground. SCORE carefully scrutinized Adirondack Coffee Company's books, scheduling and inventory procedures, and helped them to find the solutions for the problems faced.
