Overview: This paper elucidates a processual framework for IT governance. The key governance processes in this framework are the processes of alignment, acquisition, evaluation, and benefits realisation. These processes are argued to be fundamental in setting a governance framework for the effective management of IT. Evidence that this framework is important to good IT governance was found in a number of firms in the Australian Top 50 companies.
