Overview: Satellite signals can reach almost anywhere. They can be used both for point-to-point or point-to-multipoint transmission. Satellites can target audiences at local, national or global levels. They support both one-way and two-way communication, which can be broadband and narrowband. The above mentioned qualities are some of the many reasons why satellite technology and communication are used by almost all the nations. This paper examines the space-based assets of India and Pakistan and the ways those assets support the development process in those countries.
