Overview: Improvements in communication and travel have turned the world into a virtual village, where messages are blitzed across from one side to the other. Mobile phones, PDAs and notebook computers are getting smarter and more compact by the day. When the first commercial cell phones were on the market, they were about the size and weight of a brick, but now most mobile phones are well-designed, palm-sized, smart devices.
