Overview: Entrepreneurs create. They innovate. They employ. They are vital to the success of every economy. Ewing marion Kauffman wanted his foundation to advance entrepreneurship and, in doing so, enhance living standards for all Americans. In this paper, we highlight one of several exciting data projects at U.S. statistical agencies. In another project, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BlS) uses the business Employment dynamics database to publish quarterly job creation and destruction measures for the entire economy and by industry and size class. The BlS also has a new survey of Job Turnover (JOlTS) that provides statistics on hires, separations, and job openings.
