Overview: A large consumer products manufacturer needed improve its business performance if it was to compete and succeed in intensely competitive business climate. Using Oracle Business Intelligence (BI), it examined its distribution, warehousing, logistics, and transportation processes. Based on insights gained through BI, it redesigned and consolidated its product distribution warehouses and rerouted distribution. This paper will review the evolution of BI and examine its current state, which is characterized by numerous point products that are difficult to integrate, coordinate, and orchestrate.
