Overview: Modern supply-chains are becoming increasingly complex to manage. It is often the case that suppliers of components are not necessarily the manufacturers of those components, and rely on their own supply-chain. In such complex environments these intermediate suppliers need to have an accurate model of their own supply-chain. However, this is not a trivial problem. We show how supply-chain models can be automatically acquired from historical data related to previous supply-chain experience. This paper should be regarded as a novel demonstration of how machine learning, constraint satisfaction and truth maintenance techniques can be combined in order to address an important problem in supply-chain management, i.e. the acquisition and maintenance of supply-chain models.
