Overview: Business process management is an evolving set of methodologies and technologies that promise new levels of business integration and employee productivity. Knowledge management is a relatively mature capability that focuses on generating, managing and distributing distilled information called "Knowledge." At present, the same solution set rarely features these two solutions; however, the author has found that "Really interesting problems" require an integrated methodology and set of technology services that fuse business process and knowledge management into a holistic solution. This paper discusses two case studies that feature a blending of elements of both into a business solution with a huge payback to the business. It concludes with an overview of Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC's) recommended solution for an integrated system.
